Private Harp Lessons

INSTRUCTOR: Jessica Risinger

Harp lessons at Legacy are perfect for a student who already has a proficient level of musical training and wants to learn a rare and beautiful instrument. Harps have such a rich and calming tone, that even beginning harpists can sound great practicing the basics. Students interested in playing the harp must have at least one year of experience playing an instrument and taking private lessons with a teacher. Much of harp instruction for the first few years of study focuses on learning hand proper playing technique. Ms. Jessica is a 2nd-generation Salzedo trained harpist and has extensive training in this classical technique. Once students have mastered the technique, they will be given more opportunity to choose music that suits their personal preferences and can begin more creative projects.

Harps come in a range of sizes and styles, and also vary greatly in price. New beginner harps can range anywhere from $900-6,000, while professional orchestral harps cost $10,000 and up. There are several rental and rent-to-own options available which are practical for student harpists just starting out. Legacy may have instruments available for rent, so please contact me for more details.

If you or your student are interested in harp lessons and have more questions, please contact me and we can schedule a time to chat.

Online Harp Lessons

INSTRUCTOR: Jessica Risinger

Online harp lessons at Legacy are an excellent option for many harpists. With online lessons, students will be able to attend classes from the comfort of their own home, learn on their own instruments, and take advantage of more flexible scheduling options. The harp is a rare and beautiful instrument, even in the hands of a beginner! Unfortunately, many students do not have the opportunity to learn this instrument due to location and not having access to a local harp teacher. Online harp lessons at Legacy are a wonderful option for beginning, intermediate, and advanced level harpists.
