Piano Lessons
Private Piano Lessons
INSTRUCTORS: Jessica Risinger & Lindsey Winkler
Piano lessons at Legacy are a combination of purpose and creativity. As we design each student’s curriculum, we are careful to balance structured practice in technique, lesson books, and music theory with more creative practice in improvisation, composition, and student-chosen repertoire. Teenage and adult students typically know what they want to achieve through lessons, so often, we choose repertoire which fits their preferences. With younger students we most frequently use the “Succeeding at the Piano Series” and “Wunderkeys” but are also familiar with teaching from other common piano method series.
As we work with each student, we begin to discover his or her preferences and musical strengths. As the student-teacher partnership develops, we begin to make and achieve goals specific to the student’s musical superpowers and interests. For example, some of our students show natural talent for composition, hymn playing, sight reading, classical performance, pop music performance, memorization, and improvisation. Ou studio welcomes transfer students and brand-new beginners to give piano lessons a try at Legacy Musical Arts.

Preschool Piano Lessons
Private Lesson & Group Lessons Available
INSTRUCTOR: Jessica Risinger
Preschool piano lessons at Legacy are full of fun and joy! Pre-kindergarten students (ages 3.5-5) are at the perfect age to begin learning about music and the piano. This new lesson option is a busy and engaging opportunity for your little one who shows an interest in music. During a preschool piano lesson we sing, play finger games, explore musical movements, play the piano, learn numbers, learn musical notation, and more. Because little ones have short attention spans, we keep the lessons moving with different activities and pace the instruction based on the student’s mood and interest. We’re not sure who has more fun - the preschool student or Ms. Jessica!
Needed Equipment:
Keyboard (half or full-sized)
Music book (your teacher will assist you in selecting the right lesson book)
Online Piano Lessons
INSTRUCTOR: Jessica Risinger
Online piano lessons at Legacy are just as creative and enjoyable as in-person lessons, with the added convenience of being online. You can attend piano classes from the comfort of your own home on your own instrument. This option is ideal for teens and adults who may have busier schedules or might live a distance away from our northern Kentucky and southern Indiana locations. Our studio primarily uses Skype, Facetime, and Facebook Messenger for virtual lessons but we are flexible depending on the technology preferences of our students.
